Drive Ahead! Carcade is a free-to-download action game from developer Dodreams Fairytale Company Oy. It is a side-scrolling car combat experience that is set in a dystopian world wherein players will participate in a competition of heavily customized vehicles and engage in brutal head-on fights for fame and glory. 

Compared to similar games like MadOut Fire or Wreckfest, Drive Ahead! Carcade takes on a more casual and arcade-like approach to gameplay that pretty much anyone can get into and enjoy. The experience is complemented by simple and intuitive controls that are easy to get used to right away. 

One-hit knockout 

Drive Ahead Carcade takes place in a dystopian future wherein vehicle combat has been turned into a deadly spectator sport and you're one of its participants. Your main goal is to knock opponents out by hitting them on the head with your ride. Fight it out with others until there's only one left standing and win Fame Points to help you climb the ranks. 

Play lightning rounds solo or team up with friends and family via online co-op and rise through the ranks together. Rounds are referred to as a "show" and each one features unique fighting conditions and rules to abide by. Some of the things you can expect include battling on an island volcano surrounded by molten lava and avoiding falling through the cloud while up in the sky. 

The best part is there are various unlockable vehicles that can be customized with skins and character outfits you can don for a more personalized look. On another note, despite its intuitive controls and straightforward mechanics, the game's physics makes it hard to control your vehicle, and even harder to land a hit on enemies. Hopefully, this can be tweaked further to improve controllability and gameplay experience. 

Fun but unnecessarily hard 

In summary, Drive Ahead! Carcade is a fun and chaotic experience that you can enjoy with friends and family if you enjoy car combat games. It's easy to get into with its simple controls and mechanics, and there are plenty of vehicles to unlock. Hopefully, the physics of the game will be reworked as soon as possible. Nevertheless, this is worth a try.
