While the game’s haunting beauty and innovative design are captivating, its slow-paced, introspective nature may not appeal to everyone.

The Playrooms update

The latest Playrooms update for Dreamcore significantly expands the game, adding approximately 50% more content. This expansion delves into the unsettling side of childhood, presenting eerie environments that combine hazy memories of nurseries, playpens, gymnasiums, and preschools. Players will navigate through unsettling renditions of jungle gyms, paintings, and play structures, all rearranged into something quietly uncanny and deeply disquieting, without jump scares, still.

The update was surprise-released on June 7th. Anyone who purchased Dreamcore before June 17th received it and all future chapters at no additional cost. A player who completed the level said that it’s quite challenging. They thought it would have been a nice touch if the developers had hidden a skeleton or two within the game. A constant feeling of being watched throughout the level heightened their anxiety.
