Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar Biography: जीवनी अम्बेडकर

Bhim Rao was born on 2nd November 1856 in a village named Ambikhandal in Gujarat, India. He was the son of Ramchandrapath Bhim Rao I, who was the chief of the Bhimrao Patro and a respected member of the community.

Dr. Bhim Rao studied at home, and later at the Jashore Padre Memorial School, which is considered to be the first modern school in India. He studied in the school from 1869 to 1873. In 1877, he passed the B.Sc. examination from Gujarat University, and in 1879, he received his B.A. from the same university. He also studied at the D. (Drama) degree course at the Gujarat Technological University, and later, at the B.

In 1883, he married to Damayanti, the daughter of Kunbi-Parashurambhim and Rajbhar, the head of the Bhimarao community. They had a son named Bhim Rao Parashuram, who was born in 1884.

After completing his studies, he started his career as a teacher in a school in Surat, and later, in Jabalpur. He taught there for two years. He then became the headmaster of a school in Rajkot, and in 1891, he moved to Bombay (now Mumbai) to work in the same city.
