Doublespeak is a Chrome extension developed by mcdickenson that aims to combat political doublespeak by replacing it with plain English. In today's online world, political euphemisms are prevalent, often used to make undesirable actions seem harmless. With Doublespeak, users can take a stand against this language manipulation.

Once installed, Doublespeak adds a button to your Chrome window. When clicked, it opens a duplicate tab of the current webpage, but with all instances of doublespeak replaced by straightforward language. This allows users to see through the veiled intentions and understand the true meaning behind the words.

The current version of Doublespeak (v0.2) already includes replacements for terms such as "adversary" to "anybody," "extrajudicial" to "illegal," "rendition" to "kidnapping," "post-truth" to "lying," "fake news" to "propaganda," and "alt-right" to "white supremacist." The extension also welcomes user suggestions for additional terms to be added to the dictionary.
