Plants vs. Zombies: Battle for Neighborville
The battle intensifies
A farming adventure with Doraemon and friends
DORAEMON STORY OF SEASONS lets players enjoy a carefree life with everyone’s favorite cat robot. This is a relaxing simulation game where Doraemon will take you on yet another adventure. Playing as Nobita, Doraemon’s loyal human companion, your mission is to bring this forgotten farmland back to life.
DORAEMON STORY OF SEASONS brings the classic mechanics of Story of Seasons (formerly known as Harvest Moon). However, it doesn’t have a solid plot to follow. There are a few missions here and there to keep you going, but players can choose to complete them at their own pace without feeling rushed.
In DORAEMON STORY OF SEASONS, it is your job to make the farmland thrive with life by planting vegetable and fruit seeds. You will also harvest fruits to sell in the market and care for farm animals like sheep, chickens, and cows. When you need a break from all the hard work, you can go out and explore the small town of Natura. Take walks and interact with various objects.
This is a slice-of-life type of game, so it really tries to let you experience life set in a different environment. The visuals are beautifully rendered, looking as if they came straight out of a water-colored manga. The soundtrack further enhances the experience with light, soothing melodies that accompany your time on the farm. While the gameplay is casual, there’s still enough variety in tasks to keep things interesting.
However, one downside to the game is the lengthy tutorial, which can take up to 40 minutes and cannot be skipped. This might be frustrating for players who are eager to dive into the main gameplay. Additionally, some players feel the game has too many cutscenes, which, while charming, could be better if there were an option to skip or fast-forward, especially for those less emotionally invested in the characters.
Doraemon Story of Seasons is a relaxing and immersive farming game that appeals to fans of both Doraemon and Harvest Moon-style gameplay. Its charming visuals and laid-back mechanics offer a refreshing break from other, more fast-paced games. However, the lengthy unskippable tutorial and cutscenes can be a drawback for those who prefer a quicker start. Nevertheless, it’s a perfect choice for anyone looking for a casual, enjoyable gaming experience.
