Doom Classic Review
Doom Classic, a sci-fi first-person shooter game, is an updated version of the original 1993 Doom. Developed by id Software and Nerve Software, and published by Bethesda Softworks, it utilizes the Unity engine as a shell for the id Tech 1 engine. Originally released as part of a classic Doom ports suite for various platforms including Nintendo Switch, the game faced criticism for poor quality and an always-online DRM requirement.
Despite the initial backlash, Nerve Software addressed the issues through patches, resolving log-in requirements and port problems. The PC version of Doom Classic was released on Bethesda.net initially and later made available on Steam as a free update to existing owners of The Ultimate Doom.
