DOOMby Bethesda Softworks is a reboot of the classic first-person shooter game, bringing back the Doomslayer as the protagonist. The game is set in a world where humanity has learned to harvest energy from Hell to solve the energy crisis. However, a demon invasion has started, and it's up to the player to control the Doomslayer and destroy the evil.

The game is fast-paced, with no cover or health regeneration, leaving players to fend off armies of Hell with only the help of instant health packs and glory kills. The single-player campaign has a noticeable personality, with the protagonist getting visibly annoyed and angry in expository cutscenes. The game also features collectible items, secrets, and upgrade points for weapons and armor. In multiplayer, players can engage in Deathmatch/”king-of-the-hill” type game modes with all the weapons from the single-player campaign.
