The DMXcat system consists of a small hardware dongle, which can be purchased separately, and a suite of free mobile applications. The hardware interface is compact, battery-powered, and easily portable, fitting into a pocket, tool pouch, or belt. With Bluetooth LE technology, the dongle communicates with the smartphone applications within a range of up to 50 feet.

The DMXcat system offers five different software applications. The DMX Controller allows users to control a single universeDMX channel with two user interfaces - sliders or keypad.
