Divinity: Original Sin 2 is a next-generation iPad game set in the fantasy world of Rivellon. Players create a hero, gather companions, and seek to ascend as the god the world needs. Choices shape the world

Players can choose from six Origin characters with established backgrounds and personal quests or create a custom Human, Lizard, Elf, Dwarf, or Undead character. The world reacts differently depending on the character’s race, identity, conversations, and decisions, affecting relationships and the direction of certain quests.

Players have considerable freedom in how they interact with the world. They can speak with animals and ghosts, examine objects, and even kill non-player characters without necessarily preventing further progress. This gives them several ways to deal with different situations.

Tactical turn-based battles

Alongside its open exploration, combat revolves around positioning, elevation, environmental surfaces, and elemental effects. Players can gain an advantage from higher ground, manipulate their surroundings, and use parts of the battlefield against enemies. These mechanics may take time to understand, especially for newcomers. Trying different party strategies and elemental combinations can help players overcome difficult encounters.

Solo and cooperative play

The campaign can be played alone, by two players through split-screen on one iPad, or online with a party of up to four. Drop-in and drop-out support let online players join or leave cooperative sessions.

Split-screen allows two local players to explore different areas without loading screens between them. The game also supports Game Center invitations, matchmaking, achievements, iCloud saves, cross-save across devices, and cross-platform play between Mac and iPad.
