Snake and Ladder is a game in which two players, representing the "snakes" and "ladders", play a game on a board that consists of multiple rows and columns. The object of the game is to move your character, symbolized as a "ladder", up the board, while preventing your opponent from doing the same.

A player moves a single step forward either up, down, left, or right. A step is taken by placing the bottom of the ladder on the first column, the top of the ladder on the last column, or on any column in between. The player may move to any of the available columns, and the game ends when one of the two players has reached the other side of the board. The player who reaches the other side first wins the game.
