An end to the long-winding Destiny 2 storyline

Destiny 2: The Final Shape is the eighth expansion in the extensive Destiny 2 storyline and will act as the grand conclusion in The Light and Darkness Saga. This DLC takes players to the Pale Heart, which marks the action game’s very first linear destination across the entire franchise.

Enter the Pale Heart

With a number of new enemies—such as the Subjugators—and an eerie new location, Destiny 2: The Final Shape immerses players in a haunting yet engaging experience that ties together loose ends and connects dots from Destiny 2’s web of stories. The expansion also brings new and familiar weapons and gear to equip their Guardians with.

Much like Destiny’s other iterations, this DLC focuses on FPS combat and open-world exploration. Players can continue to engage in solo or cooperative story modes, challenging missions, and competitive PvP modes, as well. Take note, though, that the number of tasks and their difficulty can be quite daunting for newer players.

An exercise in nostalgia

The final chapter of Destiny 2 is a story of grief and loss, featuring a campaign that throws players into eerily familiar locations. Presumably warped by the Witness, these places are creepy and have melancholic air, like the highway, where it all started, is now held up by ghostly hands.

It plays out with how the Witness has interpreted these locations throughout the saga, weird and wild as they may be. Although the twists can be nightmarish to others, hardcore fans may find them endearing as they can witness these storied places once more before the story wraps up.

A heartwarming conclusion

Following an illustrious and enthralling adventure, Destiny 2: The Final Shape finally sets some long-awaited questions to rest. As players dive into Destiny 2’s final expansion, they’ll be able to enjoy all of their favorite aspects of the game while continuing to battle against stronger opponents and completing tasks with friends.
