Desktop Notifications For Google Meet is a free Chrome add-on developed by AkarshR. It falls under the category of Browsers and specifically the subcategory of Add-ons & Tools. This add-on aims to bridge the gap between in-call messages and notifications during Google Meet sessions.

The add-on automatically activates as soon as you enter a meeting, ensuring that you never miss any messages. With a single click of a button, you can easily enable or disable this feature according to your preference. By delivering messages as desktop notifications, it eliminates the need to constantly switch between the browser and presentation.

When a notification is clicked, the Google Meet window instantly opens, allowing you to quickly read and respond to messages. This feature is particularly helpful for lecturers who can now address queries without any interruption.

It is important to note that you must allow notifications when prompted or manually enable them by clicking on the lock icon beside the omnibox and allowing notifications specifically for Google Meet. This is a one-time step and the add-on will not work if notifications are blocked.

Windows 10 users may need to adjust their 'Focus Assist' settings to receive notifications while in a full-screen application.
