Deliver Us Mars is an adventure video game wherein you travel to the Red Planet for one last chance to save humanity. Developed by KeokeN Interactive, this 3D single-player game is the sequel to Deliver Us The Moon and continues the story after a decade more of Earth’s struggles to survive.

Similar to the first game, Deliver Us Mars is a story-rich space exploration game that places emphasis on an atmospheric sci-fi adventure. The puzzle gameplay mechanics make a return, as well as the need to explore and gather clues in order to progress the story.

Is Deliver Us Mars a sequel?

Deliver Us the Moon is a 2018 adventure-puzzle game video game about a lone astronaut who must investigate what happened to the lunar space station while it was researching a new energy source. The game is focused on its suspense-filled narrative, bringing up themes of the threat of climate change and world-changing consequences. While it’s pretty short in runtime, the atmosphere it evokes made it an indie favorite title among sci-fi fans.

As a proper sequel, Deliver Us Mars is set ten years after the events of the first game. This time, its plot is centered around a young astronaut named Kathy Johannson. She had joined one last critical mission to investigate Mars after the World Space Agency discovered that the ARK colony ships had been stolen—and with them, the chances of humanity’s survival on a dying Earth.

The gameplay here is mostly the same as its predecessor’s. You have to explore the desolate alien environment and solve the various puzzles along the way. The main draw of the game, however, is its tense atmosphere, focus on the narrative, and amazing soundtrack. Additionally, the graphics get upgraded here—with state-of-the-art motion capture and real-time ray-traced shadows and reflections. Take note that this doesn’t support 32-bit systems, though.

A real improvement

All in all, Deliver Us Mars is the sequel that fans have been hoping for. It takes place a few years after the story of Deliver Us the Moon and continues to tell the tale of humanity’s fight for survival amidst the mysteries of the galaxy. This game got numerous upgrades and improvements compared to its predecessor so it’ll be a worthwhile journey for fans of the series.
