Dead Space 2 is a third-person action shooter, which combines both survival and horror elements. It is a direct sequel to the first chapter of the Dead Space franchise.

The story of the second part begins in 2511, three years after the events of the first part. The main character Isaac Clarke is awakened after three years of coma in an insane asylum in the Sprawl on Titan. He is the only person who knows the secret of the mysterious Marker, which has the ability to bring life to the dead.

Isaac is forced to fight against the enemies of the universe, which include not only humans, but also many types of enemies.
