Dead by Daylight: Castlevania is a DLC that brings two iconic franchises together in an exciting new chapter for the popular asymmetric horror game. Behavior Interactive’s Dead by Daylight has long been known for its intense action multiplayer experience, where survivors face off against brutal killers.  

In Dead by Daylight: Castlevania, with the addition of the Castlevania chapter, players are treated to a fresh gothic horror twist, introducing Dracula as the new killer with all his iconic moves, Dracula’s castle as a new playable stage, and two new characters — blending Dead by Daylight and Castlevania in a modern and thrilling crossover.

A faithful gothic horror vibe 

Dead by Daylight: Castlevania captures the dark, eerie atmosphere of the Castlevania universe while maintaining the familiar look of Dead by Daylight. Dracula’s Castle features haunting architecture, towering spires, and ominous lighting — a faithful homage to the Castlevania games. Dracula, the newly added killer, has been given a terrifying yet recognizable appearance, blending elements of the traditional vampire lore and his Castlevania origins.  

As with all Dead by Daylight chapters, the gameplay continues to revolve around the core mechanics of survivors working together to escape while being hunted by a killer. The Castlevania chapter introduces several exciting new abilities that enhance the gameplay for both the killers. Additionally, the survivors added are Simon Belmont and Alucard who are faithfully recreated. However, the added content does not drastically change the core gameplay. 

Dracula, as the killer, brings a fresh set of powers to the table. His abilities revolve around using the night to his advantage, forcing survivors to adapt to new challenges. This adds a new level of intensity to the killer’s role, keeping the gameplay fresh for long-time players. Despite the engaging new mechanics, the balance between killers and survivors may feel uneven at times.
