Darkrise - Pixel Action RPG is a free role-playing title for mobile by developer Roika. It's a 2D side-scrolling adventure game that features retro pixel graphics. Set in a dark fantasy world, players are tasked with taking up arms in order to protect the world from being invaded by monsters and demons.

Similar to other games like Avenger or Ninja Arashi, Darkrise - Pixel Action RPG combines fast-paced action with some open-world exploration. It also boasts a deep skill system that lets players create all kinds of character builds and specializations to take on different enemy types.

In Darkrise: Pixel Action RPG, the world is under threat of invasion from otherworldly evil, as well as its neighboring countries. Defend your home with the help of four heroes boasting unique special abilities, namely a mage, warrior, rogue, and archer. Each one boasts a deep skill tree that allows for various character builds to deal with the demons, monsters, and humans you'll fight along the way.

Your journey will take you through 50 unique locations that feature enemies that randomly spawn to get in your way. On occasion, so-called defective enemies will spawn that have the same randomized powers and stat, making them quite tricky to face and defeat. Turn to your skills and passives to figure out which combinations of abilities and attacks will work best on a particular encounter.

To help you further, this RPG has eight equipment types to unlock and equip across six rarity levels you can upgrade to. Some will have special gem slots for more bonuses from socketed gems. Now, this game is not for the faint of heart with its unforgiving difficulty. It can be a bit of a grind to level up your character and grow more powerful.

A hardcore experience

With everything said, Darkrise: Pixel Action RPG truly shines with its engaging combat and deep skill tree that really allows for all kinds of playstyles.
