CvRL: Serenade of Chaos is a free action game from an indie developer who goes by the name Slashie. It's a roguelike adventure that takes inspiration from the cult classic Castlevania franchise for its characters and gameplay. It draws from the series' rich lore and creates a story revolving around the Belmont family.

Much like other roguelikes, such as Vampire Survivors or 20 Minutes Til Dawn, CvRL: Serenade of Chaos boasts a varied roster of characters to choose from, each with their own unique traits and abilities. Players will explore an open world divided into different biomes.

Belmont descendants

CvRL: Serenade of Chaos revolves around the story of a family of vampire hunters, the Belmonts, and their duty to stop Dracula and his resurrected incarnations through the centuries. With Christopher Belmont being the current holder of the legendary whip, the lost bloodlines of the Belmonts will emerge once again to face the dark threat looming and save the world from its chaos.

As of this writing, there are six character classes to choose from to start your journey, including a vampire hunter, a vanquisher wizard, and even a manbeast. Explore a large open world across multiple zones and each one is home to all kinds of enemies like bats, skeletons, and others. Leveling up grants you random perks to strengthen your character's core attributes like health, damage, and the like.

Along the way, you'll also encounter various characters and NPCs who can help you on your quest by providing items you can buy and bring along like potions and weapons. One minor thing: Some gamers have noticed that female voices in the game use male or masculine-sounding voices. It is also nice to know that the developer actively addresses issues encountered by gamers and answers their questions too.
