Om Nom returns with a new game and new puzzles. This fifth installment of Cut the Rope franchise, Cut the Rope: Magic, adds two major features: transformations and improved visuals.

Cut the Rope’s premise is simple, get the candy to Om Nom. To do this you have to play with the game’s physics by doing things like cutting ropes to make candy drop and blowing bubbles to make it rise. Simple to understand, fun to play and visually attractive.

And, essentially, Cut the Rope: Magic is the same: but it does add something, the ability to transform Om Nom.

Om Nom can now change its form into that of a mouse, a bird, or just shrink down. By using these skills at the right time you can overcome levels ease. These skills can be activated and deactivated as you progress in the game, adding new twists to puzzle solutions as you gain more powers.

Simple controls and interface improvements

Cut the Rope: Magic is an extremely simple puzzle game thanks to its controls. These have you cutting ropes, blowing bellows, and a host of other abilities through intuitive taps and swipes. Oh, that and transforming into animals of course – each of which is introduced with a handy tutorial.

Pulling up the menus is equally simple, letting you find out information – like how many stars you have earned out of three in a level – in an instant.

Cut the Rope Magic is the game that visually changes the series. While the overall look is the same, the developers have added new 2D visual effects to make it more attractive. As with Angry Birds 2, the graphical improvement is clearly visible with greater color and vibrancy, an effect that makes every level feel special.

This is set off by the visual effects for each spells and transformation. These are really striking and add even more beauty to each environment.

Cut The Rope: Magic offers new puzzles, new options, more puzzles, and more fun. That is its greatest virtue: it is still great to play. Add to this its clear visual improvement, and you have one of the best games for mobile.
