A memorable crocodile returns
Croc: Legend of the Gobbos (Remastered) brings back the 1997 adventure game with updated visuals, smoother controls, and behind-the-scenes content. Developed by Titanium Studios, the game casts Croc, a friendly green crocodile, on a mission to rescue his fuzzy Gobbo family from the clutches of Baron Dante and his Dantino minions.
Refreshed old-school platformer with new tricks
Croc: Legend of the Gobbos (Remastered) captures nostalgic joy with visual polish, enhanced controls, and an impressive documentary archive. In this version, Croc feels more agile and precise while jumping, climbing, and back‑flipping. However, some unforgiving platforming and occasional slippery physics remain in later levels. Boss fights also carry their original run‑and‑tail‑slap design, which feels dated.
The overhauled visuals kept the original’s cartoony charm. Character models and environments are rebuilt in higher polygon counts, textures are sharper, and real-time lighting effects are now present. The standout new feature is the Crocipedia, a digital museum packed with original concept art, development documents, pre-release demos, soundtrack variations, and developer interviews.
A faithful leap into the past
Croc: Legend of the Gobbos (Remastered) delivers an updated version of the original platformer, preserving its charm while refining visuals and controls. The Crocipedia adds real value for fans and gaming historians alike. Though some outdated mechanics and clunky segments persist, the remaster shines as a nostalgic gem for new and returning players.
