Craft Robo Castle Sun defines itself as a craft construction game where you use 3D blocks to create buildings and environments. The landscape on which you build is set as a standard that you choose yourself. It is not a procedurally generated one since exploration and resource gathering is not part of the game.

The developers say this simulation game was inspired by Minecraft. In terms of building tools and aesthetics, it is also similar to Lego Worlds. Like Minecraft, this game doesn't use a building currency other than the materials themselves. It is more of a creativity game.

Generate maps to build upon

Pick a map, perhaps one that has water and beach areas, and then create your buildings. Putting blocks together that have the same texture will remove the seam to create a flat and smooth surface. Select blocks to add everything from walls and roofing to plants and lights.

A severe lack of curves

Though the building block aesthetic allows for some nice designs, the fact is that you cannot use any sort of curved shape within your designs. This means that every window has to be a square or rectangle, and every building support must be vertical.

Simple textures rendered nicely

To this game’s credit, it has used more advanced textured effects than Minecraft. For example, the water looks like a clear liquid, the sky has a nice blue & white color gradient, and even the reflections look nicer. It also makes far better use of smooth textures than Minecraft.

The game’s scope is very small

This block-building game is so small and has such a limited number of features that it feels like an add-on to Minecraft that the developer released as a stand-alone game. It doesn't offer much in terms of creative diversity and doesn't allow for a lot of experimentation.
