June Pinegar is a young woman with a busy life. She works in New York City as a lawyer and lives in a penthouse in the West Village. But, this summer, she is forced to spend the majority of her time in her father's small hometown, Summerlake, in the Southern state of Kentucky. Why is she doing this? Because her father is ill and needs her help. However, this isn't the only thing that brings her to Summerlake. There are also hints of romance in the air as well.
