Handle heavy machines and big contracts
Construction Simulator gives players a hands-on experience in the world of construction. It puts players behind the wheel of powerful machines and tasks them with completing small- and large-scale projects. More than just operating heavy equipment, this simulation game also focuses on the business side of construction.
In Construction Simulator, you start as a simple worker who has proven themselves worthy to take over their mentor’s company. Expand the business by completing contracts, managing resources, and making key decisions that influence its growth. With a wealth of content, there’s always something to keep players engaged.
Construction Simulator features two expansive maps, each offering a unique setting and campaign. With over 100 contracts, players take on diverse projects and navigate various challenges. The Friedenberg map, inspired by Southwest Germany, focuses on renewable energy projects and urban development. Meanwhile, the Sunny Haven map, based on a harbor city in the USA, focuses on boosting tourism. Both locations are open worlds to explore.
The game features over 80 officially licensed construction machines from manufacturers like Caterpillar, Kenworth, Meiller-Kipper, and Bobcat, enhancing immersion and adding realism to the experience. It also includes a partnership with Engelbert Strauss, allowing players to equip their characters with proper protective gear. The game has a multiplayer mode that supports up to three friends, enabling teamwork to tackle massive projects.
While the game offers an immersive construction experience, some aspects need refinement. There are various vehicles available, but the driving mechanics feel wonky and unrealistic, making transporting materials more frustrating than engaging. Additionally, some construction machines have a realistic feel, but others lack proper hydraulic physics, making them less satisfying to operate. The menu system is also unintuitive and cluttered, which can slow down gameplay.
In conclusion, Construction Simulator successfully delivers an in-depth construction experience by blending hands-on building with business management. The vast selection of machinery, diverse maps, and cooperative multiplayer enhance its appeal. However, some unrealistic equipment handling, clunky driving mechanics, and an unintuitive interface hold it back from being truly exceptional. Despite these flaws, it remains a rewarding simulation for fans of the genre.
