The Constitution of Brazil is the supreme law of the Brazilian  state, established in 1822, and whose main object is to organize the government and the rule of the country. The Constitution is the only law that applies to all people and all citizens, regardless of their social status, occupation, or age. It is the only source of law in the country, and its importance is recognized by the fact that it is the only document that can be amended.

A document of such importance requires a great effort to prepare, and the preparation of this document is one of the greatest achievements of the Brazilian government in the 20th century.
