In India, the education system is highly fragmented, with different schools teaching different subjects and having different curriculum. Students are not taught mathematics in the early childhood, which makes it difficult for them to understand basic concepts later on. This is especially true for children from lower-income families.

With this in mind, the All India Organization for Education and Training (AOET), an autonomous government body, was established in 1970. AOET aims to improve the quality of education in India and to make it more affordable.

It is the most effective and the largest single organization working in the field of education and training in India.
