The sword in Ciri's Game of Thrones app has been redesigned based on the description from the books to make the metal a darker shade to signify that it has been made of dark iron. It has an engraving at the base of the blade, and the leather on the handle has been re-textured to look like shagreen.

Leo Bonhart takes his prisoner Ciri (as Falka) to the swordsmith Esterhazy in late 1267 to get her a sword for fighting in the Claremont arena. Esterhazy shows a valuable gwyhyr he had hidden away and offers it to Ciri as a gift, naming it Zireael.

A gwyhyr is a magnificent gnomish blade that is widely regarded as the best in the world. More than two hundred years before the events of the tale, the gnomes had discontinued the development of these weapons. Gwyhyrs were fashioned with "black iron," resulting in razor-sharp blades. Their undulating edge and ray shagreen-covered hilts were also their distinguishing characteristics.
