Experience a focused backup and migration utility, Cigati Mac Office 365 Email Backup Tool from Cigati Solutions, designed to secure Microsoft 365 mailboxes on Mac. The tool downloads emails, attachments, and mailbox items to local storage and exports to multiple file formats for archiving or migration. Key capabilities include multi-format export, folder-hierarchy preservation, duplicate removal, and CSV-based bulk account mapping. It targets Mac-based IT administrators, SMB owners, and professionals who need reliable local archives or cross-platform migrations.

What does the tool actually do?

The tool exports cloud mailboxes to local or other cloud destinations, retrieving Inbox, Sent, Drafts and custom folders and saving items in PST, MBOX, EML, EMLX, MSG, PDF and HTML. In addition, it can migrate mailboxes directly to Gmail, Yahoo Mail, Thunderbird and IMAP servers. Key operational options include:

• Format selection for exported files (PST, MBOX, EML, EMLX, MSG, PDF, HTML)
• CSV mailbox mapping for bulk account processing
• Duplicate detection and removal during export

Does it slow down your system during a backup?

Designed for macOS, the tool uses a high-speed migration engine that the developer describes as capable of handling large mailboxes without data loss. Because it is optimized for Mac, routine backups can run without manual scripting. Nevertheless, actual throughput depends on local storage capacity and internet connection speed, so backups of very large archives will be constrained by those environment factors.

Is it safe to use for compliance and legal archiving?

It preserves folder hierarchy and message metadata throughout the export, which supports chain-of-custody and compliance workflows. The software offers direct PDF export for easy sharing and legal documentation, and includes a duplicate-identification feature to reduce redundant copies. The app operates independently and does not require a local mail client, eliminating dependency on desktop mail installations.

Do I need technical knowledge to operate the app?

The interface removes the need for command-line scripts for common tasks, letting non-technical users run selective backups using Date Range filters and naming conventions. In addition, administrators can prepare CSV files for bulk migrations when handling many accounts. Advanced filtering and migration mapping give administrators control, while single-account exports suit individual professionals who prefer guided workflows.

A practical Mac-focused choice with a bandwidth and storage caveat

The tool is a practical option for Mac-based administrators and professionals who require reliable mailbox exports and cross-client migration, offering format flexibility and account-mapping for scaled work. Its main caveat is dependence on local disk capacity and network throughput for very large archives; plan backups around available storage and off-peak network windows to reduce disruption.
