Chorus of Carcosa is an adventure game. It is a deeply unsettling first-person psychological horror game that places players in the role of a solitary sculptor whose quiet life is interrupted by a terrifying descent into madness. When a blood-covered neighbor appears at your door, your world quickly unravels into a nightmarish reality where nothing is quite what it seems. 

In Chorus of Carcosa, set inside a decaying, ever-shifting apartment complex, the game invites you to explore its eerie corridors, uncover hidden clues, and survive the monstrosities that stalk its shadowy halls. 

Stay silent or suffer 

Rather than relying on combat, Chorus of Carcosa uses silence and stealth as your main tools for survival. You’re constantly under threat, with no weapons and very few places to hide. Your goal is simply to stay alive, move quietly, and find your way through a twisting environment that often changes when you’re not looking. This keeps tension high and forces you to always stay alert.  

The minimalist design of the gameplay perfectly matches the tone of the story: paranoid, anxious, and relentless. Inspired by classic horror fiction, particularly “The King in Yellow” by R.W. Chambers, the narrative plays with the idea of reality versus illusion. You never truly know if what you’re seeing is real or imagined. This layered storytelling, combined with professional voice acting and eerie ambient sound, adds to the immersive fear.  

The use of Unreal Engine 5 allows for deeply atmospheric visuals, with flickering lights, long shadows, and claustrophobic interiors that trap you with your own thoughts. Though short in length—around two to three hours—the game leaves a lasting impression thanks to its powerful sense of dread and psychological horror. The absence of a map or clear direction increases the feeling of helplessness.
