Chessemble is a strategy game for PC developed and published by Giga Glitch. It takes the classic board game of chess and throws in a mix of custom chess pieces with special abilities and effects that dramatically change how the game is played.

Play chess outside the classic rules

Chessemble allows you to customize your board layout, and you’re not locked to the traditional 8x8 chess board. With the addition of custom chess pieces, like the Fusefort that explodes on capture, or the Dragon that breathes fire on other pieces, it’s a fun, chaotic way to play chess.

The game also has a competitive nature to it with the implementation of ranked matches, which you can grind to climb to the top of the leaderboards. You can also test your strategies against AI or take on handcrafted challenges before diving into the competitive side of the game.

Tactical mayhem

In a nutshell, Chessemble is simply chess with special powers. The custom chess pieces added in the mix are certainly a fun twist on a traditionally serious board game. The downside is that it can be complex for newcomers or for those who are used to the traditional ruleset.
