Chess is a board game played on a chessboard, with pieces that can be moved in a manner of the player's choosing. The object of the game is to take your opponent's king or "queen" by placing it under an escapable threat of capture. To this end, the game includes multiple levels of difficulty. There are different types of pieces, including the most important—the "king" and the "queen," and many more.

In addition to the standard king and queen, there are two other types of pieces that can be placed on the board. These are the "pawn" and the "rook." A "pawn" can move one square forward, while a "rook" can move one square in any direction. There are no restrictions on the moves of the other pieces.
