Checkers, also known as Draughts, is a strategy board game for two players. It is a traditional game, with a history of more than 5000 years. Checkers is played on a 8×8 square board. The game begins with the two players, on opposite sides of the board, each having 16 pieces: one king, one queen, two rooks, two knights, two bishops, and eight pawns. At the start of the game, each player is given a turn to move his pieces. There are no restrictions on the moves, except that the pieces cannot be moved into an occupied square. The objective of the game is to capture the opponent's king by moving the pieces to the opponent's side of the board.

To win, you must be able to get your opponent's king in checkmate, which means that the opponent's king must be in the same position as your king, with no pieces between them. To achieve this, you need to move your king to an unoccupied square on the opponent's side of the board. If the opponent moves his king to the square you moved to, you will lose.

The game ends when the opponent has no legal move, that is, when there is no piece between the king and the opponent.
