Checkers is a board game played by two opponents, on opposite sides of a single, 9×9 square board.

The game begins with both players placing their two black pieces on the board, one in each of the nine squares. The pieces move according to the rules, alternating between players and going down one of the nine paths on the board. Each path begins in a dark square and ends in a light square.

The objective is to get your white pieces to the opposite side of the board, while your opponent tries to stop you. The winner is the one who can get the most total points.

There are three different modes of the game:

English Draughts - pieces can't jump back and Kings can only move one stop in either direction.

Flying Kings - pieces can't jump back but Kings can move as far as they want along unblocked diagonals (also known as Spanish, Czech, Argentinian, Thai, Turkish).
