Cat Cove Inn is a free simulation game where you can foster and care for a number of virtual pets — cats in particular. This pixel game from Loaf Labs requires you to feed and play with the cats in your cove and build rapport before you can send them to a proper home.

Similar to World of Pets, it’s important to keep watch over the animals in Cat Cove Inn so that their stats don’t deplete. You’ll need to check in at least once per day to meet their needs. Take note, however, that the game is still under development.

Simple but adorable

As the name suggests, Cat Cove Inn takes place in a homey location that you can fill with furry little friends. There are numerous types of cats to collect, including some special ones that are quite rare, so make sure to keep an eye out for them. Each kitten also has its own unique traits and qualities that make them even more lovable.

In order to feed and play with the cats, you will need to play some fun mini-games before you can successfully raise their stats. Once you’ve managed to gain enough affection, you can rehome them by choosing a proper owner. The humans also have their own requirements for the pets they want to adopt, so it’s best to keep track of each feline’s traits to find the right match.

The game also makes use of adorable pixel graphics that give the game a retro vibe. Since you’ll only need to point and click, it’s easy to navigate the game as well. However, do keep in mind that there are only two mini-game types, so they can get repetitive pretty quickly. You will also need to grant special permissions to properly run the game.

Ideal for casual gaming

The premise for Cat Cove Inn is straightforward and only needs you to check in once each day to interact with your pets. This makes it easy enough for casual players or younger audiences to enjoy without having to put in too much effort. However, the lack of variety in the mini-games becomes pretty boring over time. Since it’s still in development, though, it’s possible that more games can come.
