CaptionSpeaker is a Chrome extension that lets you hear a specified language when there are subtitles on YouTube videos.

You don't have to use it every time you watch a video with subtitles, as it can be a great way to make sure that you have the language you want to listen to.

There are a number of different options to choose from when using CaptionSpeaker.

Supported languages

caption: English, Español, Français, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Russian, and Spanish.

Audio Settings

speech rate: The speed at which you listen to the captions (0-4).

Speakers

If the selected caption speaks to you, it will start right away (I sometimes fail).

Voice Controls

If you need to turn the caption speech on or off you can do it by pressing a button on the settings page.
