Canasta is the computerised version of the classic card game that is typically played with two or four players. In this version the computer takes on the role of the opponent and players have the chance to pit their wits against the computer and try to win the game while honing their skills at the same time.

For people who have never played the card game before, Canasta draws them into the game gently and provides a good place to start. The rules are basically the same as the classic game with the difference being that the computer takes care of shuffling and dealing so that players can relax and enjoy the game to the full, although the lack of game play variation eans that the novelty may wear off quickly.

While younger players are likely to have fun playing Canasta, the lack of any real challenge means that older gamers are likely to become bored rather quickly. however, for solo gamers who are dedicated to playing cards on their computer, it does make a refreshing change to solitaire.
