The app can prevent the device from sleeping while it is running in the foreground. It only downloads images when it is in the foreground. Users can switch between portrait and landscape mode, but this may not have the desired effect on certain devices such as the Amazon Fire TV Stick. CamBoard has been extensively tested on the Google Nexus Player and Amazon Fire TV Stick.
