Bunch of Keys is a Chrome extension developed by Fred Gandt. It is a minimal tool that displays common musical keyboard scales and chords. The main purpose of this tool is to provide new learners with a clear and consistent display of the most common (and some less common) scales and chords.

The usage of Bunch of Keys is straightforward. Users can select from dropdown lists of modes, scales, or chords. The available modes include ionian, dorian, phrygian, lydian, mixolydian, aeolian, and locrian. For scales, users can choose from chromatic, whole tone, major, natural minor, melodic minor, harmonic major, harmonic minor, pentatonic major, and pentatonic minor. The available chords include major, minor, diminished, augmented, major 6th, minor 6th, 7th, major 7th, minor 7th, 7th flat 5, 7th sharp 5, diminished 7th, 9th, 7th flat 9, 7th sharp 9, major 7th 9, 9th flat 5, 11th, augmented 11th, 13th, and 13th flat 9.

Once the desired mode, scale, or chord is selected, users can simply click on the desired key to see the related scale or chord highlighted on the two-octave keyboard. The tool also provides note names and indications of the number of semitones between them. Additionally, users have the option to animate the displayed sequence(s).

It is important to note that Bunch of Keys was in beta development and is incomplete but functional within its limits. The development of this extension has been abandoned, and there will be no further updates or support. However, the extension does not collect or process any personal data or communicate with any external applications, ensuring user privacy.
