BTS Universe Story is a free simulation mobile video game developed by Netmarble, which features 3D avatars of the South Korean boy band, BTS. You get to enjoy an interactive choose-your-own-adventure-style story starring RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook. Each character has a different set of choices when playing through the game and the outcome will depend on the options you choose. 

What is the BTS Universe Story game?

BTS Universe Story is a collaboration between Netmarble and Big Hit Entertainment. Fans of the group will be pleased to see the boys reenact scenes from their own music videos. Here, you will play an active role in those stories as one of the members. You will be making the decisions and guiding them as you would in other story games.

The main draw of BTS US is the story creation. You can create an alternative universe for the boys to inhabit. It is similar to BTS: The Bangtan Universe wherein they’re merely teenagers navigating young adulthood. The difference is that this game allows you to make any narrative you want. You can add as many details in your BTS AU through the app’s editing tool. 

Otherwise known as the Story Creation mode, it comes with production tools and a story-playthrough mode. It also comes with a collection mode where you can gather clothes and accessories for the boys. As for bonuses, you can participate in the 7-day daily check-in event where you can receive up to 30 jewels or in-game currency. 

What is the BTS storyline?

BTS Universe Story does have one main storyline. It stars SeokJin, who is trapped in a temporal loop. In order to break the cycle, he must gather his six friends into one universe. In other timelines, you find the boys playing a completely different role; there are over 12 original scenarios where they play as a bodyguard, zombie fighter, or coffee shop manager. 

You can opt to write and direct your own story that features the boys’ Bangtan Universe personas. The setting, time period, outfits, facial expressions, and dialogue can be edited by you. As a new player, you can start with the easy editing mode. It employs a point-and-click system to make it easier for you to set the scene. For more detailed scenes, you can proceed to use the expert mode. 

There is also an additional augmented reality mode called Showroom. This allows you to dress up a BTS member and place their avatar in a real environment. The mode allows you to take photos, as well as interact with the avatar such as dancing and posing. While the movements appear realistic, the art style is far from it. The group appears as soft, watercolor versions of themselves instead of their actual looks.

BTS Universe Story is the perfect app for fans of BTS. Members of the ARMY have full reign over the story, style, and emotions of the boys. In addition, they get to interact with the boys individually. This and their dynamic movements make up for their animated appearance.
