Broadcast Chat Overlay is a Chrome extension designed to streamline live streaming by allowing users to display chat messages directly onto their broadcast overlays in applications like OBS or vMix. This tool is especially beneficial for streamers who wish to engage their audience by showcasing live chat interactions in real-time. The functionality is straightforward: users can click on any chat message to broadcast it, and a second click will hide it, with previously displayed messages being grayed out for clarity.

To utilize this extension, users must first install the accompanying Broadcast Chat Overlay desktop application, which sets up a local overlay server. After installation, users simply need to input the server address in the extension and connect. The extension supports a seamless integration with live chat pages in Chrome, enabling users to enhance their streaming experience without the need for complex configurations. Notably, all visual customization is managed through the desktop app, ensuring a cohesive look for broadcasts.
