The purpose of the British Council EnglishTest is to evaluate your English language proficiency and provide you with the information to prepare for an English interview. The questions in the test are similar to the ones you might find in an actual interview. You need to show that you not only know the English language but also have the ability to use it in a different context, such as in an interview.

In order to be able to answer the questions correctly, you need to understand how the English language works and be able to express yourself in it.

We use a variety of methods to ensure that you are able to answer our questions easily, such as providing you with examples and letting you practice answering the questions on your own.

This is not a test of your English language knowledge, but rather of how you can use it in a different setting.

If you get the answers wrong, you will not be penalised. Your score will not decrease if you answer a question incorrectly. However, your score will decrease if you do not answer a question or do not finish the test.

When you finish the test, your score will be calculated, and you will receive your results.
