Brightness Widget serves one and only one purpose: to effectively and quickly adjust the light and dark aspects of your screen. Its controls can be configured in one of two ways. You could choose them to become a portion of the notification centre. They can also be displayed much like a common volume slider. Either way, the app will remain out of the way when not in use. Another potential benefit associated with Brightness Widget is that it can help to save battery life when the computer is not plugged in.

Compensating for Darkness as Well

Brightness Widget can also be used to darken the screen by up to 200 percent. This "blackout" mode can be useful when sleeping or if you are viewing sensitive information. The settings can be returned to normal by clicking the gear icon. Your computer will require only 1.7 megabytes of operating space.
