Rules, bidding, and match structure

The game follows the structure of Rubber Bridge, where a match, or rubber, ends when one partnership wins two games. A game is won when a team reaches a contract score of 100 or more points.

Each deal begins with bidding. A bid states how many tricks, or rounds of card play, a partnership expects to win and whether the deal will use a trump suit or no trump. The highest final bid becomes the contract, which sets the number of tricks the declaring side must win.

The required total is the bid number plus six tricks. The player who first bid the suit or no-trump denomination of the final contract becomes the declarer. Players may also pass, double, or redouble, giving the game a more strategic bidding phase before card play begins.

Gameplay with computer opponents

Bridge Card Game uses computer-controlled robot players to support solo practice. Once bidding ends, the player to the declarer’s left leads the first trick. The declarer’s partner becomes the dummy, meaning their cards are placed face up and played by the declarer for the rest of the deal.

Players must follow the led suit when possible, while trump cards can win tricks when a player cannot follow suit. This setup lets users practice both bidding decisions and trick-taking strategy without needing other players online, though players looking for a more social bridge experience may find the solo format limited.

Scoring and learning value

Scoring includes contract points, overtrick points, undertrick points, doubled and redoubled scoring, slam bonuses, and honors points. Clubs and diamonds score 20 points per trick, hearts and spades score 30 points per trick, and no trump scores 40 points for the first trick and 30 points for each additional trick. This scoring coverage helps players understand not only how tricks are won, but how each contract affects the final result.
