Blade & Soul Revolution is the mobile video game port to the successful Korean fantasy martial-arts role-playing game, Blade & Soul. A free-to-play MMORPG developed by NCSOFT, Blade & Soul had become a favorite MMORPG title in Korea and eventually gained traction in the West. It even spawned a short anime series in 2014. The story of Blade & Soul starts with your origin story. You were a promising student of the Hongmoon School, until the evil Jinsoyun targeted your home, looking for the legendary Twilight’s Edge blade. Surviving the massacre, you decided to embark on a journey for revenge. One of Blade & Soul’s best features is its highly-customizable character creation system. From the start, you can create a unique avatar using the various hairstyles, facial structures, facial markings and makeup, eye color, height, and even body sliders. The uniqueness of your character will go even further with the race you choose for them. You can be a sturdy Gon of the Azure Dragon, a versatile Jin of the Black Tortoise, an elegant Yun of the Phoenix, or even a cat-like Lyn of the White Tiger. As you progress through the various story arcs, and even PvP matches offered in the game, you can become stronger with the 12 different classes that all have varying playstyles and methods of combat. You can even align with one of the two major factions warring for power in the game’s world. The faction you choose will then decide which Clans you can join later. As an MMO, this title is great mobile gameplay, since even in the original game. You can use the auto-battle feature when exploring and fighting, and even switch to manual mode anytime you want. The animations won’t be as crisp as its PC counterpart, but the beauty of Blade & Soul: Revolution can still be enjoyed on your pocket-sized device.
