Black Me - Screen Off for YouTube, or Black Me for short, is a free utility tool that enables you to turn off your screen while keeping your apps running. It is specifically made to allow you to use your YouTube app without interruption, but it can also be used to keep other programs working in the background.

Black Me is a lightweight app; it won’t take up too much space on your device when you download it. However, it does require various permissions such as displaying over other apps and automatically running it when you boot up your device.

Easy to use but with flaws

Black Me offers a clear and simple design that makes it easy to use and navigate. Everything you need for this app is on one screen, allowing you to adjust the configurations quickly and without the hassle of opening different sections. What's more, you can activate the program with just a click of a button from the same screen. The said button is labeled as "Start the Service" at the bottom.

Another way to activate the app is by tapping on the notification window that will appear. Meanwhile, you can easily enable the app's ability to show the floating button over other apps and turn on your device's display when you receive calls. What's more, this program offers four ways to unlock or turn on your device: single tap, double tap, long press, and swipe.

Despite these features, this app also has its fair share of flaws. For instance, it only works properly on AMOLED displays. Devices that have another type of display can still use the app and it will work, but the interface will not be completely turned off. Another flaw is that it's way too sensitive in the sense that an accidental or light tap can reactivate the screen display.

For an uninterrupted app usage

Black Me is the app you need if you like to keep your device turned off without interrupting the activities of your apps, specifically YouTube. It has a straightforward design that makes it simple to configure and enable or disable the functions you want. It also offers different gestures for unlocking your device. Do note that it requires different permissions and only works properly on devices with AMOLED displays.
