Bird Builder is a free game that gives you a 3D bird that you can tweak, reshape, and customize for as long as you like.

Build your own bird

As its title suggests, Bird Builder is all about building birds. You adjust sliders on a menu to change its appearance and can alter the length of its beak, make its eyes bigger or smaller, make its neck as long as an ostrich or as short as a robin, stretch and squash the body, make the wings bigger or smaller and lengthen or shorten the legs. You can design your own color scheme, altering the hue, lightness, and saturation of both the bird and the background. You can even add hats. The 3D aspect separates it from MS Paint and Tux Paint.

Fun for all ages

Bird Builder offers no way of exporting your bird or giving it animations besides the standard rotation. In other words, there is nothing to do with the bird once it is created: the purpose of the game is simply to come up with funny combinations of design elements.

Short and sweet

Bird Builder may have limited appeal for older players, but it should still be fun when it lasts, with a naturally appealing design for the 3D bird and a lot of ways to customize it to create wacky designs. Younger players, in particular, should find entertainment value in playing with their 3D bird-like virtual modeling clay.

While it has little to offer in the long run, Bird Builder is good for some short-term fun, particularly for children who want to try out some creative play.
