What are binaural beats?

When two tones of slightly different frequency are presented to each ear, the brain detects this as a difference in the sound heard and the result is an illusion of sound that is perceived as coming from somewhere else. The effect is similar to a direct current (DC) and alternating current (AC) transformer connected to a common ground. The sound that is perceived by the brain is called a binaural beat and it can help you sleep, focus, and meditate.

There are five different types of binaural beats:

• Beta waves
• Delta waves
• Gamma waves
• Mu waves
• Theta waves
