Bhagavad Gita, also called the Bhagavad Gita or the Geetha, is a religious text consisting of eighteen chapters. It is the primary text of the Bhagavad Gita and is considered the best book to follow the teachings of Sri Krishna. It is written in the Sanskrit language and contains teachings on a variety of subjects, including ethics, life, nature, and the purpose of human life. The text is a discussion between the divine soul (God) and the human soul (soul or soul that is in a body). It is believed to have been written by the God-man, Sri Krishna, in the year 4,3,2,1 AD.

The text is divided into eighteen chapters and is structured in the same way as the Mahabharata, which is a collection of stories told by the sage Krishna to the hero Arjuna before the start of the war in the epic Mahabharatam. This means that the book is structured in a way that makes it easy to follow and understand the teachings of Sri Krishna. Each chapter is called a "yoga" and it contains various teachings, including the purpose of human life, the nature of God, and the duties of a good person. The word "yoga" means "to unite or to bind" and in this case, the yoga is the union of God with the soul.
