Bejeweled Blitz asks you to play Bejeweled for a minute at a time. The goal is to match as many as you can within one minute. When you match three, the icons explode and move, which hopefully leads to more icons (gems) exploding.

A colourful puzzle game with an arcade style

Bejeweled Blitz works from a classic arcade styling board and puzzle type. The lights, sounds and effects are reminiscent of old one-armed bandits and fruit machines, which is all built to offer a visual and auditory reward stimulus to keep you playing. As a result, the game is very addictive. All you have to do is match up three of the same icons and they disappear and new icons take their place. Matching more than three at one time makes the game more exciting. Do not pay too much attention to the promoter’s boasts about boosts and earning exclusive rewards because they are all marketing ploys to get you to buy in-app purchases. There are no freely-obtained rewards or boosts for people who have not paid for the game.

A reasonably good game if you can avoid the lag

Bejeweled Blitz is a reasonably good game with a great reputation, but in April 2018 it received an update that caused a massive lag. The game is now only playable without the lag on a minority of devices. If the game doesn't work perfectly on your device after downloading, then delete the game and give up on it because there is no fix for the lag and it severely reduces how enjoyable the game is.
