Beginner Norwegian is a free Android app developed by shotgun.experiments under the Education & Reference category. It is designed as an introduction to Norwegian for beginners and enthusiasts. The app follows the 'a word a day' concept and provides up to 12 words a day of your choosing.

The app uses a repetition-based learning system where all words 'learnt' are tested repeatedly, with decreasing regularity if answered correctly. Vice versa, if incorrectly answered, the app will adjust to test you more on the word, or 'deactivate' it, while you learn other words in the meantime. There are almost a thousand common and popular Norwegian words available in the app, and by pacing yourself, you can gain an essential knowledge of the Norwegian vocabulary in just a matter of weeks.
