A cyber-magical auto battler with an old internet soul

BBS (Bulletin Board System) Magica is an indie simulation and strategy game from ねむねむおかき that combines magical girl fantasy, retro internet culture, simple programming, and auto-battle shooting. The game follows Kurumi, a former magical girl who now works as an office worker and manages a bulletin board to support herself while aiming for early retirement.

Programming, auto battles, and daily survival

BBS (Bulletin Board System) Magica is split between cyberspace combat and daily life management. In battle, Kurumi transforms into her magical girl form and protects the bulletin board from threats, with the game ending if the board’s durability reaches zero. The twist is that messengers operate according to the programs you create, making automation a key part of survival.

The simple programming function is one of its most interesting features. The graphical UI operated with the mouse, with tutorials designed so that even programming beginners can learn while playing. That makes the game more approachable than a hard-coding puzzle title while still giving players the satisfaction of building logic and watching it function. However, its niche concept is a hard hit-or-miss

A strange but clever blend of retro internet culture and strategy

BBS (Bulletin Board System) Magica stands out through its unusual mix of magical girl storytelling, retro internet aesthetics, and automation-focused gameplay. The approachable programming system gives players satisfying control over battles without demanding advanced coding knowledge. The combination of daily life management, strategy, and cyber-themed charm creates a distinctive indie experience unlike most auto battlers.
