Battlefront Ultimate Commander Mod is a free-to-use mod created by Battlefront Ultimate Commander Studio for Star Wars: Battlefront II, not to be confused with the more recent Star Wars Battlefront II released in 2017. Unlike Star Wars Battlefront II: Remastered Mod, this utility is a full overhaul that adds tons of new content to the base game. 

The objective of BUC is to recreate the Star Wars Universe through a variety of “mythical epochs and places of the saga”. This mod adds new eras, new game modes, new units, new maps, new HUD, better AI, and many more. 

A comprehensive overhaul

Battlefront Ultimate Commander Mod uses the foundations laid by the base game to craft an entirely new Star Wars universe consisting of two new eras — The Clone Wars and Imperial Civil War. The addition of these new eras will provide players with an entirely new experience while still enjoying the satisfying gameplay mechanics featured in the original. Even more lore elements have been added to delight fans of the franchise. 

BUC also enriches the gameplay by adding five new game modes namely, Order 66, Phase 1 Clone, Mandalorians, RED V BLUE, and Team-Death-Match. These game modes provide new experiences based on lore-accurate Star Wars events and factions. The mod also adds over 200 new units to choose from, 11 new maps, and a vastly improved AI that aims to make combat more challenging and fulfilling. 

Other features of the mod include support for maps from Star Wars Battlefront (2004), a new HUD, and a new user interface. As comprehensive as this overhaul mod is, those who want to play it should keep in mind that it is no longer being developed. It will no longer receive official fixes so those who play the mod will have to tolerate issues or make their own fixes.  

More Star Wars for the fans

The newer Star Wars Battlefront titles are technically superior, but there are still many Star Wars fans who prefer the gameplay of the older titles. Battlefront Ultimate Commander Mod provides these fans more of the old-school Star Wars Battlefront gameplay without any compromises in quality and lore accuracy. If you want to revisit the 2005 game, you can’t go wrong with installing this well-made overhaul.
